Certified Engineering, Inc. is a full-service civil and structural engineering firm based in Burbank, California. Since our founding in 2019, we’ve proudly delivered high-quality engineering solutions for both public and private sector clients throughout Southern California.

Our Founder: Erik Khanbabaian, P.E.
Erik Khanbabaian is the founder and principal civil engineer at Certified Engineering, Inc. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Erik brings a wealth of expertise in designing and managing infrastructure and development projects of all sizes.
A graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Erik has dedicated his career to improving California’s built environment through practical, sustainable engineering solutions. His background includes extensive work in both the public and private sectors—ranging from city street rehabilitations to complex commercial site planning.
In addition to his engineering expertise, Erik is a successful real estate investor and developer, owning and managing a portfolio valued at over $700 million in residential and commercial properties. His deep knowledge of real estate markets, entitlement processes, and value-driven design gives Certified Engineering a unique edge in aligning project feasibility with engineering excellence.
Erik’s leadership is grounded in technical excellence, a deep understanding of local regulations, and a hands-on approach that ensures each project meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
